IM Employment Overview

IM Sports employs over 150 students each semester to execute program activities on a nightly basis. The goals for the employment opportunities include providing a consistent, organized, professional experience to all participants - including employees, as well as polishing transferable skills such as communication, time management, conflict resolution and problem solving.

Employment Eligibility:

  1. Enrolled in at least six credit hours for the semester (3 credit hours for Summer employment)
  2. Good standing within UREC
  3. Application materials must be turned into the UREC Main Office - Student Recreation Center
  4. Complete and turn in all payroll paperwork 
  5. Attend all required trainings and certifications

Available positions through the IM Sports program:

Office Assistant for Sports & Activities

  • Assist the Assistant Director in the planning, marketing and scheduling of activities during the summer and upcoming academic year. This includes employee and game scheduling, maintenance of records/data and the creation of new activities.
  • Gather and store items/information for each shift (clipboards, equipment, etc.).
  • Ongoing evaluation of the program and its ability to serve the students.
  • Work closely with summer projects to further advance the Sports & Activities program through doing research and creating content. 

Official

  • Work with others to provide a safe and fun playing envoironment by enforcing rules. They also work as a team with the other IM Sports staff to execute the program goals through positive customer service, facility maintenance and enforcing policies. It is important to note that prior experience is necessary! All we ask is that you come in ready to have fun, work hard, learn and improve!

Sports & Activities Supervisor

  • All Intramural and Club Sports events are overseen by the Supervisors.
  • Responsible for risk management, facility usage and programming execution.
  • Available for information, emergency situations and any incidents which may occur.
  • Responsible for the overall success and timeliness of each Intramural and Club Sport event through facility and participation supervision.
