Bouma Family Legacy at UREC

Emma Bouma ‘19 started at App State in 2015 and graduated in the Spring of 2019. Emma worked with UREC for her last two years of college serving as a Club Sports Executive Officer during that time. Emma’s brother, Karst Bouma ‘21, attended App State from Fall 2017 to Spring 2021, working at UREC for three years from 2018 to 2021. Karst started working as a Sports Supervisor and then held the leadership position of Program Manager.

Maud Bouma ‘23 followed in her sibling’s footsteps attending App State from 2019 to 2023. Inspired from all of their UREC stories and experiences, Maud started working as a First-Year Student and continued for all four years, becoming one of UREC Sports Programs longest tenured student employees. Maud started working as a Sports Supervisor and later became a Program Manager in Fall ‘22. Maud exhibited excellent leadership skills in her role and created a strong sense of community among staff, and was an integral part of a very dynamic Program Manager team that served Sports Programs and UREC. Maud graduated on May 12, 2023 extending an incredible legacy of service and leadership from the Bouma family for the Sports Program and UREC here at App State University.
