App State Student Memberships

 

Student Activity Fees, as part of the general fees, help cover the operational costs for University Recreation. Undergraduate and graduate students who are enrolled full time during the current term and pay student activity fees are granted membership to University Recreation (UREC). Undergraduate and graduate students who are enrolled part-time are granted membership provided they pay the general fees for the term they are enrolled in.

Members must present a valid AppCard or scan the barcode from the UREC app for admittance.

Membership Rates

Most App State students receive UREC access automatically. Students who are not enrolled in on-campus courses may purchase a membership.

Student Summer Membership

Valid during Summer Operating Hours

Affiliation with App State Cost
Enrolled: Summer Session I and/or II class Included in general fees
Enrolled: Student Teaching, Study Abroad, Internship Experience $30*/summer
Not enrolled: Completed Spring 2027, Pre-Registered for Fall 2027 $30*/summer
Not enrolled: Graduated in Spring 2027 Alumni Membership $40/month

Affiliation with App State will be confirmed. If you do not meet the eligibility requirements for the Summer Membership, your membership will be canceled and the membership fee will not be refunded.

*Some students such as those enrolled in Study Abroad classes, Internships, and Student Teaching only pay tuition and not general fees to student accounts because it is assumed that they are not on campus and therefore not using services and facilities. These students would need to pay for the Summer Membership since general fees are not paid.

  • Your spouse or domestic partner
    • You must provide "proof of the same address" for you and your spouse/domestic partner prior to their membership being activated
  • Your children up to age 26
  • Considerations may be made for anyone who qualifies as your dependent for federal income tax purposes

  • Current utility bill
  • Current lease or mortgage
  • Current insurance card or bill
  • Current semester tuition bill
  • Personal check
  • Valid driver license
  • Current bank/credit card statement
  • Current payroll check

Access Rules

  • Dependents 18+ may enter independently
  • Dependents under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian
  • Each member must have a valid AppCard or use the UREC app for admittance to UREC facilities
