About the Wall

Our Indoor Climbing Wall is located at the SRC on the left side of the entrance. It stands 50 feet tall and includes bouldering and 10 top rope routes. Routes are set for all climbing abilities, from beginner to advanced. Climbing shoes, harnesses, and belay devices are provided free of charge.  If you're new to climbing, ask a Climbing Wall Supervisor for an orientation! We're always stoked to help, excited to talk about climbing, and we can't wait to meet you.

We also offer belay clinics and belay certification check-offs. We will offer walk-in Belay check-offs at the climbing wall supervisor's discretion, (based upon factors such as how full the climbing wall is at the time and how many available staff members are working that day.)

*Minor policy: If you are under the age of 18, we need a "wet-ink" on paper parent/guardian signature on the CW Policy Statement and Inform Consent before you can climb. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a legal parent/guardian (they must also have an active membership with UREC). and you must be 16 or over to belay.*

Adaptive Climbing

The Outdoor Program climbing wall at the Student Recreation Center now offers adaptive climbing! This means that anyone can experience the joys and benefits of climbing with our range of accommodations, regardless of ability level. Our staff are trained to facilitate adaptive climbing at any time the wall is open. Drop by during our hours and ask a staff memeber about adaptive climbing opportunities!
