How to Rent Equipment
Walk-In Equipment Rentals
- Walk into the Outing Center located in the Student Recreation Center during operating hours and discuss your needs for equipment with the staff. You will pay for equipment and leave with the items rented.
- Must arrive at least 30 minutes prior to closing.
- Please be aware that we have a limited supply of equipment.
Reserve Equipment in Advance
- Reservations can be made up to one week in advance by walking into the Outing Center located at the Student Recreation Center during operating hours and discussing with the staff your needs for reservation.
- Must arrive at least 30 minutes prior to closing.
- Reservations can ONLY be made with credit/debit card payment.
- You will pay for the total amount of your rental at the time you make the reservation, but you will only pay for the days in which you actually have possession of the equipment.
- Bring your equipment reservation confirmation on the day selected to pick up equipment. This should only take about 20 minutes.
- Equipment that has not been paid for by the scheduled pick-up date will be returned to circulation. Equipment that was paid for but not picked-up by the time we close on the scheduled pick-up date will be returned to circulation. We do not provide refunds for equipment that was reserved but never picked-up.
How to Return Equipment:
- Plan a 30 minute window in which you can return your equipment at least 30 minutes prior to closure on the day equipment is due.
- Assist staff in cleaning/disinfecting of your equipment as directed.
- You are good to go!
Refund Policy
Please be aware that all refunds MUST have manager approval and cannot happen on the spot. Once equipment has been reserved or rented equipment has left our building, we cannot provide a refund. If your refund is approved, the refund will take at least one week to process. We do not provide refunds for equipment that was reserved or rented and never used.

2 Person Tent

4 Person Tent

Backpack Kelty
Additional days: Student $2; App State Affiliate $3.
Description: Includes pack. 55 liter main body with additional 10 liter brain. Internal frame and adjustable straps
Bear Can
Additional days: $1 for each additional day.
Description: Includes a can with the lid. Need a coin, screwdriver, or something of the sort to lock the can
Camp Chair
Additional days: Student $1; App State Affiliate $2.
Description: Crazy Creek camp chair, great for camping, backpacking or just sitting outside.
Canoe
Due: Following day.
Description: Includes canoe, personal flotation device(s), paddle(s), NRS Straps. You will be responsible for bringing an appropriate vehicle for pick-up (roof racks with cross-bars). You will be responsible for the loading and tie-down of canoe. Staff reserves the right to decline the rental if there is not an appropriate vehicle used for pick up.
Cook Sets (Glacier Stainless & MSR)
Additional days: Student $2; App State Affiliate $3.
Description: Includes 1.5 quart pot, 1 quart pot, 2 dual-use frying pans/lids, pot gripper, and stuff sack.
Cooler
Additional days: Student $2; App State Affiliate $3.
Description: Igloo Cooler, Hard Insulated, 54 and 70 Quart options
Crash Pad
Due: Following day.
Description: Includes one crash pad with dense, multi-layer foam for optimal impact absorption. Its rugged outer shell resists abrasions and tough landings, while easy-carry shoulder and waist straps make hiking out a breeze. The foldable design ensures compact storage without compromising coverage when fully opened.
Hammock
Additional days: Student $2; App State Affiliate $3.
Description: Includes a hammock and Atlas Suspension straps. Single and two person options available. Weight capacity of 400lbs.
Headlamp
Additional days: Student $1; App State Affiliate $2.
Description: Requires 3 AAA batteries, batteries not included
Rock Climbing Shoes

Sleeping Bags

Sleeping Pad

Description: Includes 1 Therm-a-rest RidgeRest foam sleeping pad. Available in regular and narrow (suited for backpacking) sizes. Purpose is to insulate body from the ground and is essential year round.
Stove
Additional days: Student $1; App State Affiliate $2.
Description: Includes valve, burner, and stuff sack. Fuel is not included, you will need to purchase Isobutane Fuel Canister for the stove separately (not available through Outdoor Programs).
Stove (Two Burner)
Additional days: Student $2; App State Affiliate $2.
Description: Includes two adjustable valves and two burners. Fuel is not included, you will need to purchase a propane fuel canister for the stove separately (not available through Outdoor Programs).
Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Badfisher
Due: Following day.
