Equipment available for use in the Weight Room and Cardio areas

Student Recreation Center (SRC):

(most of this equipment is located behind the desk; just ask a Weight Room attendant if you would like to check it out)

  • Dip Belt:  A belt used to add a weighted plate to during a dip exercise 

  • Weightlifting Belt:  A belt used to add pressure around your core to support your low back during lifts such as the barbell squat and deadlift 

  • Super band:  A thinner resistance band to add resistance to body weight exercises 

  • Therapy band:  A thicker resistance band to add resistance to body weight exercises used for upper-body movements 

  • Small resistance bands:  A circular light resistance band that goes around your knees 

  • Wrist wraps:  A Velcro wrap used to support your wrists when doing movements such as the bench press or lat pull downs 

  • Wrist straps:  Straps used to help your grip by locking hands into the barbell/other weight with the strap 

  • Barbell neck pad:  A pad used to cover the portion of the barbell that goes on your neck when doing a barbell squat, it can also be used to cushion the barbell on your hips when doing the barbell hip-thruster exercise 

  • Ankle straps:  Straps used to connect your ankle to the cables in the gym for certain exercises

  • Pedal straps:  Straps used to attach your foot to the pedals on a stationary bike 

  • Ab rollers:  A mini-wheel with hand grips on each side that can help strengthen your abdominal muscles

  • Step-up:  A little box that can be used for box-jumps 

  • Yoga mat:  A rubber mat that is more comfortable to do exercises on than the hard floor
