Student Access to Facilities
Student Activity Fees as part of the general fees help cover the operational costs for University Recreation. Undergraduate and graduate students who are enrolled full time during the current term and pay student fees are granted membership to the Student Recreation Center, the Quinn Recreation Center, and the Mt. Mitchell Fitness Center. Undergraduate and graduate students who are enrolled part-time are granted membership provided they pay the general fees for the term they are enrolled in.
How to access the facilities:
- Participants must present a valid AppCard/Scan of Barcode from our UREC App for admittance to the recreation facilities.
- Cards (first card) for household members are $15 each. UREC will initiate the request for AppCards for household members.
- Particpants must complete a Waiver. If the particpant is a minor under the age of 18, the parent/guardian must sign the Waiver before participation.
- University Recreation must obtain waivers with "original" signatures.
- The waiver is valid for a five (5) year period

*Some students such as those enrolled in Study Abroad classes, Internships, and Student Teaching only pay tuition and not general fees to student accounts because it is assumed that they are not on campus and therefore not using services and facilities. These students would need to pay for the Summer Membership since general fees are not paid.
**Those enrolled only in Summer Session II may have to visit the SRC Front Desk to have their membership activated for Summer Session I. You may be asked to show a copy of your class schedule to verify enrollment.
