University Recreation Council

What is UREC Council?

URECCouncil BlackandYellow

The University Recreation Council represents a diverse population of residence hall students, off campus students, Greek students, and students of other clubs or

organizations who are active in Intramural Sports, Outdoor Programs Club Sports, and/or fitness and informal activity (anyone who uses the gym).

The Council hears, reviews and decides on issues involving protests, ejections and/or appeals. The Council serves as an advisory committee for new policies and procedures,

which may be implemented in the UREC handbook. The group also deliberates on any immediate changes, which need to be taken into consideration throughout the semester.

The Council's other responsibility is to decide upon the recipient of the Barbara Daye Award for outstanding work performance of a UREC employee each semester.

Who can Appeal?

Any University Recreation participant has the right to appeal to the UREC Council should they feel they have been treated unfairly in any way.
