Assistant Director for IM & Club Sports and Camp UREC

Erin has been professionally with University Recreation at Appalachian State since 2006. She graduated twice from Appalachian, first with a BS in Exercise Science and then again with a MA in College Student Development.

Erin loves the opportunity to work with students in a recreation setting to provide a transformational experience outside the classroom. She appreciates working in a sports field where there is an emphasis on self-improvement both mentally and physically in a supportive community.

Erin enjoys spending time with her family going on adventures, watching any type of sports (especially college football & basketball) & cheering on Watauga Basketball! 

Chris Carr

Christopher Carr

Coordinator for Sports & Activities

Chris has been with University Recreation since July 2015. He comes to App from Indiana University where he graduated with a degree in Athletic Administration and experience as a Graduate Assistant in the Campus Recreation program. Before Indiana, he graduated from George Mason University with a degree in Recreation, Health & Tourism. 

Chris appreciates working with students and helping them reach their personal and professional goals. He feels blessed to work in a role where he can facilitate meaningful, intentional, and developmental learning. Every day working with our students is another opportunity to learn from them and grow as a professional.

Chris is a die hard sports fan. He supports all of his DC sports teams, specifically, the Redskins, Nationals, Wizards, and Capitals. He loves playing sports and will try anything. He is long off the tee, but can't putt to save his life in golf. He also loves country music and going to concerts, cover bands, and any live music.

Coordinator for Sports & Activities

Alex has been with University Recreation since July 2017. He comes to App State from Flordia Atlantic University where he received a M.Ed Higher Education & Leadership. Prior to that, he graduated from Georgia Southern University with an Exercise Science B.S.K..

Alex loves helping students develop and becoming the best version of themselves as possible. He enjoys putting on events for the students and the community to enjoy as it gives him a sense of accomplishment. Being involved in sports is just a bonus!

Alex loves to exercise and play sports; watch Netflix; cook; spend time with family & friends; and spending time with his beagle named Clay.
