Sam Zalatan

Sam is majoring in pre law. After graduation, she will be working full time as the aquatics regional operations supervisor before attending law school.

Sam says that she “had the best time working here! I’ve had so much fun working with the best co-workers and making new friends.”

Rhett Steelman

Rhett has recently received a full time position as Program coordinator at the YMCA Camp Harrison located in Wilkesboro, NC. Since he is starting that position soon, he will be leaving us March 30th.

Rhett is a Recreation management major. He has received several aquatic certifications through his school year including, Lifeguarding Lifeguarding Instructor, Certified Pool Operation and Aquatic Programming.

He says about working here "I have worked at UREC as a lifeguard for a year and a half and have made some of the best friends I’ll continue to have and really enjoyed it all.”

Parker Ogburn

Parker is a Psychology major and is planning to move to Raleigh or Charlotte and work as a clinical social worker.

“I’ve worked for a year and have enjoyed working and getting to know my co-workers and see all the events that take place here.”

Alissa Lake

Alissa is a Business Management major and currently seeking employment in the Greensboro, Raleigh, or Charlotte area.

Alissa has been working at UREC for 3 years and “my favorite part has been meeting so many great friends.”

Libby Young

Libby is our program manager and is majoring in Math Statistics Concentration. She has worked at UREC for 3 years. Her favorite memories at UREC are meeting some of her best friends!

After graduation, Libby will be attending grad school at App State and she will be working again at UREC as a GA for Member Services.

Josh Burgan

Josh is majoring in Supply Chain Management & Computer Information Systems.

After graduation, Josh will be attending Elon Law School in the fall.

“Over the four years that I have worked here I can say that I have become part of a family UREC and it has become a second home for me. I have met some of my closest friends while working here at the SRC. UREC will forever have a special place in my heart. I will miss it very much moving forward. It was an experience that I will never forget and it helped shape me into the person that I am today.”

Noah Oliver

Noah’s major is  Exercise Science with a minor in Health Care Management.

Noah has a position after graduation working at Crowders Camps as the director of Crowders Springs.

Noah has worked here since his freshman year. "Working here as a lifeguard at UREC has been so enjoyable and rewarding. I have met great people and learned great leadership here!"

Ali Hibbard

Ali is majoring in Exercise Science. She plans to attend the University of Tennessee Knoxville in the fall to work towards a Master’s in Sport Psychology and Motor Behavior.

Ali has worked here for two years. Her favorite memories of UREC has been meeting some of her closest friends and working in a student oriented workplace.

Matt Wagner

Matt is majoring in history and a minor in economics. Matt will be moving to Charlotte to start a job at Ally Financial.

Matt has worked at UREC as a lifeguard for one semester but has worked here in different jobs in the past. He “loves being a part of providing an outlet for other students to improve their lives.”

Jackie Aiello

Jackie’s major is Psychology and NonProfits. She plans to travel abroad over the summer and then who knows!

Jackie has worked here for 2 years. The best part of her experience was summer 2021 Shoutout to Eve, Dylan, Eric, and Kay! “I'm thankful for the friends I’ve made on the 6am shifts."

Jackie once fell in the pool in the middle of her 6am shift before an 8 am class. She was trying to remove a landline.

Aidan Lacz

Aidan's major is Elementary Education with a concentration in math. After graduation she plans to move back home to Greensboro with the goal of teaching at the elementary school that she attended. She will also be coaching middle school soccer.

“I have really enjoyed my time working at the SRC. I have made some amazing friendships and I look forward to seeing what each and everyone of my coworkers does next.”
