Mount Mitchell Fitness Centre
The Mt. Mitchell Fitness Centre, located on the 3rd floor of the Plemmons Student Union, is a cardiovascular and weight training fitness facility that also contains a multipurpose area for a variety of aerobic classes for students and faculty.
University Recreation operates on a modified schedule during breaks, holidays, and exam periods.
The Mt. Mitchell cardiovascular area includes treadmills, stationary bicycles, recumbent bicycles, step machines, and cross trainers for use.
The Mt. Mitchell Multipurpose area is a large, mirrored room (1200 square feet) where a variety of classes are held. Some of the classes include Yoga, Ab Attack, Burn-n-Firm, Kick-Punch-Crunch, Super Step, Funk; Thighs, Butt and Gut, H.E.A.T. and Pilates.
The Mt. Mitchell weight room features a large selection of Cybex resistance equipment and dumbbells.
