Member Services Positions

Front Desk Operations Attendant

Assist participants by addressing questions and concerns. Responsible for facility access control, distribute sports equipment as well as provide information about the facility and its programs.


Member Services Program Assistant

Member Services Program Assistants are responsible for assisting the Assistant Director for Informal Recreation with the daily management of drop-in recreation at the Student Recreation Center, Quinn Recreation Center, and Mt. Mitchell Life Fitness Centre. This will include staff and program supervision; in-service training and facility inspections; special event programming; program promotion; equipment inventory; risk management and policy development.


Cash Register Manager 

The Cash Register Manager is responsible for handling and recording all cash register sales/transactions at the SRC Front Desk. In addition, they are expected to perform all of the duties of a Front Desk Operations Attendant. This person will handle all of the cash register sales that take place during each shift and is responsible for ringing up all transactions such as Outdoor Programs trips and rentals, camp, class and swim registrations, and guest passes. This person must be comfortable handling money, recording transactions, and filling out registration sheets. This person must be focused, detail oriented, organized, and friendly, as they will be one of the first person participants meet and turn to for facility questions. The cash register manager will work closely with the Front Desk Operations Attendant and Facility Supervisor as well as perform duties as assigned by Directors, Coordinators or Programmers. It is also the Cash Register Manager’s responsibility to attend all meetings that are scheduled by Member Services.


Office Assistant

The Office Support Assistant is responsible for working as the receptionist during the times that the Administrative Assistant is out of the office (i.e. during lunch) which is located in the Student Recreation Center. They will work closely with the full-time staff, the student programmers, GAs, and participants in providing the many recreational activities offered through the University Recreation Department (Aquatics, Club Sports, Fitness, Member Services, Sports & Activities, & Outdoor Adventure Programs). Office work can include filing, cleaning, developing documents, answering phones, greeting visitors and more.
