Student Leadership Opportunities with the Club Sports Program

Executive Officers:

Executive Officers are elected to represent the entire Club Sports program to campus administration. They also serve as the liaison between the Club Sports program and the leadership of the teams.

They hold weekly office hours to carry out administrative duties (processing travel forms, MICs, etc), run the Club Sports Council (leading, prepping and taking minutes) and take on individual projects to further progress the program. If you are interested in running, you need to be available for every CS Council Meeting on Wednesdays at 5pm. Overall, this is a 8-10 hrs/week commitment which can be a very valuable resume experience.

Qualifications: Current member of the Club Sports program and/or two (2) semesters of recognized leadership experience with the Club Sports program.

2019-2020 Executive Officer Timeline:

February 19 - March 18: Nominations due to the Club Sports E-Mail: clubsports@appstate.edu

5pm, March 25: Potential candidates must accept their nomination via email reply

5pm, April 1: Candidate's materials due

April 8: Voting at Club Sports Council

Team Officers:

All Club Sports teams are organized and operated by students within each individual sport. Each team has a board of leaders voted on by the membership of each individual team and it is outlined in each team's constitution.

Minimum positions include: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasure and Club Sports Council Representative; teams may require additional positions based on the activity of the Club and the governing body.

These positions each must have an active role in the administration of their Club team. Without all of the leadership working together, a team will not reach it's full potential, both on and off the "field".

UREC Council Representative:

The UREC Council Representative serves as a liaison between the Club Sports Council and the UREC Council. They voice any concerns from the Club Sports program to the UREC Council for further support and action. This position must be available to attend both the Club Sports Council meetings (twice a month, Wednesday, 5pm) and the UREC Council meetings (once a month, Thursday, 6pm).

2020-2021 UREC Council Representative Timeline: TBA
