UREC provides a number of facilities to help Appalachian State students, faculty, and staff create and maintain healthy lifestyles. For specific facility policies, please visit the UREC Policies page.
The SRC is a 120,000 sq. ft. building that houses a 50 ft. climbing wall, an indoor walking/running track and an indoor 50m swimming pool. Join an intramural game, club sport or enjoy some free play in one the SRC's two gymnasiums.
State Farm Fields is a 24-acre complex, located two miles from the App State campus. It facilitates outdoor intramural games and has three softball fields, a picnic area, restrooms and equipment to check out.
Broadstone is located in Valle Crucis, NC, just six miles from campus. Broadstone has many features including: retreat/group meeting space, alpine tower, high ropes course, group interaction course, team-building course, climbing wall, picnic shelter and lower field.
The Mt. Mitchell Fitness Centre is located on the third floor of the Plemmons Student Union. There is a cardiovascular and weight training area as well as multipurpose rooms for aerobic classes.
The Quinn Recreation Center is located on Stadium Drive across from Kidd Brewer Stadium and features a cardio area, weight area, aerobics room, gym, and racquetball courts.
