University Recreation Council

UREC CouncilWhat is UREC Council?

The University Recreation Council is a group of students who represent a diverse population of residence hall students, off campus students, Greek students, and students of other clubs or organizations who are active in Intramural Sports, Outdoor Programs Club Sports, and/or fitness and informal activity (anyone who uses the gym).

The Council hears, reviews and decides on issues involving protests, ejections and/or appeals. The Council serves as an advisory committee for new policies and procedures, which may be implemented in the UREC handbook. The group also deliberates on any immediate changes, which need to be taken into consideration throughout the semester.

The Council's other responsibility is to decide upon the recipient of the Barbara Daye Award for outstanding work performance of a UREC employee each semester.
