Facility Maintenance

Summary

The Facility Maintenance staff is primarily responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all facilities, grounds, and equipment. This position involves maintaining playing fields, preventative maintenance of cardio equipment, and assisting with light construction projects. As a member of the maintenance crew you will play an integral role in the daily operations of UREC, and will learn valuable skills that can be applied beyond college.

Hours

7:30am - 4:00 pm Monday-Friday.  

The Facility Maintenance staff will work on average 8-20 hours per week during the academic year (up to 35 hours per week during summer sessions).

Salary $9.50 per hour

Required qualifications
  • CPR/AED, First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within 21 days of first day of employment (UREC will provide this training upon hire)

  • Valid Driver’s License with a driving record that allows for being an authorized driver with the University.

  • Ability to follow OSHA and University safety standards and guidelines for operating tools and equipment. 

Facility Technician

Summary

The Facility Technician is primarily responsible for the upkeep of the gyms across campus. The job includes disinfecting, vacuuming, and keeping the facilities clean so we can remain open. It’s great for being active and social. You'll love being a part of the UREC team as a facility technician.

Hours

The Facility Technician will work on average 8-20 hours per week during the academic year (up to 35 hours per week during summer sessions). 

Salary $8.50 per hour

Member Support  (Work Study & Non-Work Study positions available)

Summary

The Member Support position is primarily responsible for connecting with people who enter through our facility doors to encourage engagement with everyone for a meaningful experience. They provide a welcoming environment through communication and organization of our equipment, desks, and activity spaces through continuous movement throughout the facility.

Hours This position will work between 8-20 hours per week during the academic year (up to 39 hours per week during summer sessions). 
Salary Starting at $8.50 per hour.

Required qualifications

  • Dedication to University Recreation and a desire to support its Mission, Vision and Values.

  • CPR/AED, First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within 21 days of first day of employment (UREC will provide this training upon hire)
  • Ability to move throughout the facility with very short periods of stationary presence

 

HICKORY CAMPUS - Facility Technician

Summary

The Facility Technician is primarily responsible for supplementing our Housekeeping Plan by cleaning and sanitizing UREC Facilities. The job includes disinfecting surfaces and equipment, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, etc.

Hours

The Facility Technician will work between 6-10 hours per week during the academic year (up to 35 hours per week during summer sessions).
