Publicity Programmer

Reports to:

Director of University Recreation/Administrative Graduate Assistant

Hours

Minimum of one scheduled office hour a day, Monday-Friday. Average 10-15 hours per week.

Position Summary

The Publicity Programmer is responsible for assisting the graduate assistant in promoting the six program areas of University Recreation, by creating fliers, updating the website, and other duties as assigned specific to program area.

Specific Job Responsibilities

  • Design and post fliers
  • Update the UREC website
  • Create bulletin boards
  • Work special events (Intramural Championships, Open Houses, Welcome Night, UREC Fest, contact tables, etc.)
  • Hold weekly office hours
  • Attend weekly meetings with program coordinators and other publicity programmers

Qualifications for Hire

  • Organized and detail oriented
  • General knowledge of University Recreation
  • Good time management
  • Knowledge of computer programs (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Ability to work as a team player

Condition of Employment

  • After interviews, new hires will be invited to shadow the position they will begin for the new semester
  • Before the beginning of each new semester, there is mandatory training for all publicity programmers
  • The Programmer should consider this position as their first non-academic priority to fulfill the responsibilities of the job, and to successfully serve the needs of University Recreation and its employees.

Salary

$ 7.40 per hour
