Programs and Services

University Recreation provides structured and unstructured leisure time activities for students. It is through these activities that students learn life-long skills that contribute to their social, physical, emotional, and intellectual growth and development. Correspondingly, University Recreation serves as a laboratory for training in Recreation Management and related fields. Additionally, University Recreation is a responsible for scheduling various athletic and recreational facilities.

Our Mission: We are the playground for AppState students developing strength in body, mind and character.

UREC Council

The University Recreation Council is a group of students who represent a diverse population. The council reviews, hears and decides on issues that occur in University Recreation. All students are welcome to join!

Club Sports

Club Sports offers a wide range of sports (some of which are not offered through either varsity or intramural sports) in order to meet the competitive athletic desires of both the students and staff of ASU.

Intramural Sports

Intramural activities offer the opportunity for students to compete against their peers in a friendly and structured environment. In all events, sportsmanship and fair play are emphasized.

Outdoor Programs

Outdoor Program's mission is to promote discovery through student-powered adventure. OP sponsors trips and clinics designed for beginning and advanced adventurers.

Fitness

ASU's Fitness program is designed to assist students in establishing a healthy lifestyle and is committed to helping participants improve their quality of life.

Aquatics

UREC offers a variety of aquatic activities for both the students and community members of Boone.

Camp UREC

UREC offers the children of the High Country a safe, instructional environment where they can explore a variety of fitness, sports, outdoor and leadership activities during the summer months.

UREC Academy

UREC provides a number of lessons, day camps, skills labs and much more for young athletes.
